Academic Bio
Chris Woods is the John A. Wilson Professor of Sumerian. His work focuses on Sumerian language and early Mesopotamian religion, literature, mathematics and administration. He serves as editor-in-chief of the Journal of Near Eastern Studies, and is the current director of the Oriental Institute.
