Academic Bio

Sam Harris is an archaeologist and anthropologist whose research focuses on domestic activity, foodways, and local manifestations of regional interaction in late prehistoric Mesopotamia. He received his BA from Harvard College (‘05) and holds master’s degrees in contemporary Arab studies (Georgetown ‘08) and Near Eastern Languages & Civilizations (UChicago ‘14). As Lead Fellow at the Chicago Center for Teaching, he facilitates pedagogical training and development at the university.
