Academic Bio
Stephanie graduated magna cum laude from The College of New Jersey [TCNJ] in 2012, with a B.A. in English and with minors in Philosophy and Arabic. At TCNJ, she received the Dean’s Award for Excellence in the Liberal Arts, the 2011 Harold W. and Rosa Lee Eickhoff Student Leadership Award, and the English Department’s Best Essay in Research and Theory Award. She is also a member of Phi Beta Kappa. After graduating, Stephanie spent two years working on issues related to poverty and community development in Trenton, New Jersey. In 2016, she earned her Master of Arts degree in Near Eastern Studies from New York University, at which she was a Foreign Language and Area Studies scholar and the 2016 recipient of the Falak Sufi Memorial Essay Prize. As a PhD student, Stephanie’s research bestrides Palestinian literature and constructions of memory after violence, loss, dispossession, and trauma.
