Academic Bio
Isabel Lachenauer is a PhD student of Ottoman and Turkish Studies. She is interested in questions of gender and sexuality in Old Anatolian Turkish mesnevis and the literary history of late medieval Anatolia.
She received MA (Hons) Arabic and Middle Eastern Studies from the University of St Andrews in 2013 and MSc Advanced Arabic from the University of Edinburgh in 2014.
