Hongwei Zhang

Academic Bio

Hongwei Zhang is a current PhD student of Comparative Semitics with keen interests in historical development and dialectal variation of the Semitic languages, syntax, linguistic typology, phonetics and phonology, and writing systems. His keen interest in languages originated from his middle school times when he first started teaching himself Japanese and German. He got more and more curious in how different dialectal variations developed as well as different types of languages, as he completed his BA and MA degrees in Arabic Language and Literature, during which period he has worked as part-time TAs and a full-time preceptor of Arabic.
