Academic Bio

Emma is a first year PhD student, studying Near Eastern Art and Archaeology under Dr. David Schloen. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Toronto, and during her time there worked on multiple archaeological digs in Israel, including the Huqoq and Hazor excavation projects. Emma’s research focuses on the archaeology of Syro-Palestine in the Bronze and Iron Ages, and her interests include socio-economic interaction and ritual identity in the region, ceramic analysis, and GIS.
